 What is the Wisdom Program?
Wisdom is a ministry that will honor and serve the Catholic senior citizens of the Diocese of Evansville. Often, the wisdom of the chronologically advantaged is overlooked. Through sharing and celebrating the memories, perspectives and gifts of the older generation, the lives of Catholics of all ages will be enriched. The ministry of Wisdom will give recognition to Catholic senior citizens within our Diocese. The Wisdom Program will further the understanding that seniors are an integral part of the successful future of the Catholic Church in southwestern Indiana. Wisdom is a joint effort of Catholic Charities and The Catholic Foundation. Under the auspices of this coalition, social and educational programs as well as events will be made available to all Catholic seniors within our Diocese. A steering committee made up of senior lay men, lay women and priests from around the Diocese is meeting on a regular basis to shape this program.
Who will benefit from the Wisdom Program?
Both young and old will benefit. However, the primary beneficiaries will be the approximately 16,000 men and women in the Diocese who are over 65 years of age. |
