 Catholic Charities has limited funding to assist individuals with small, basic purchases when they find themselves without available cash due to an emergency or unexpected expense. Catholic Charities partners with a variety of agencies by using the voucher system to supply basic needs such as medication co-pay, birth certificate, or part of a utility bill. Persons who wish to apply for assistance may do so by making an appointment with a member of the Outreach staff. Call 812-423-5456

This program provides parish groups an opportunity to utilize the Catholic Charities staff to develop and implement social ministry / social concerns programs and to assist persons in need. We focus on teaching parishes to take action and develop programs which heal, enrich, and promote the independence of people in need. The Christian Sharing Fund assists parishes in meeting emergency financial needs. The Fund helps hundreds of people in financial crisis. Often the parish does this through the St. Vincent DePaul Society.
