Garden Patch is an annual summer program that reaches out to low-income people, mostly senior citizens, in the Evansville area. Gardeners and farmers from Gibson, Posey, Vanderburgh, and Warrick counties bring their surplus vegetables and fruits to three locations in Evansville for distribution. The Garden Patch usually operates for five or six weeks each summer, depending on available produce.
Volunteers are needed to help pick and distribute vegetables. If you are willing to volunteer a couple of hours during the months of July and August, please call 812-423-5456.
