Marital Counseling
Catholic Charities' faith-based service combined with affordability, professionalism, accessibility, and spiritual dimensions offer hope to those in need of marital counseling. One of the models our counselors use is the Divorce Busting approach pioneered by Michele Weiner-Davis, MSW. We also utilize the marriage research and wisdom of John Gottman, Ph.D. These are positive, solution-oriented, research-based ways of helping couples heal their marriage and move forward.

We Believe
... Divorce is not the answer
... Most problems are solvable
... With consultation, you can generate your prescription for positive change
... Change can occur quickly
... Discussing solutions is more important than discussing who did what to whom and when - our goal is solutions for you and endless repetition of explanation
... It is never too late
... Progress can be made even if only one partner in the marriage wants to work on change
... If you are open to God's work in your life and want to make prayer part of your marriage, your marriage can become what God wants it to be

Getting Married? Try our Marriage Preparation Counseling.
This program is designed to assist couples in evaluating their decisions to marry and to provide guidance and support after the marriage ceremony. It is hoped that by working with each couple prior to marriage, they will be less likely to encounter irreparable marital discord during the formative years of their marriage.

A detailed report containing social history information; results from personality and/or other assessment tools; evaluation of maturity and knowledge of responsibilities pertaining to marriage, concerns, and the recommendations of the therapist may be sent to the referring priest or deacon.
